This project has been over 7 years in the making. What began as a change from my old heavy pickle fork drag boat to newer, lighter fiberglass jet boat hull has morphed into a quest for cheek-flapping acceleration.

When I first purchased the empty Peterson Placecraft hull I was after record-setting performance. Once I bought the 711ci Sonny Leonard Hemi and fitted it with twin Precision turbos the project turned into a learning exercise to improve my fabrication techniques. My OCD kicked in and 7 years later I’m still working on Game Over but I’m also very close to hearing the Hemi roar to life and the boat floating in my local lake.

The boat and engine combination is out of this world and wholly illegal for any heads-up drag boat racing class. I don’t care. When the day finally arrives that I get to mash on the gas pedal, I’ll be looking for my cheeks to touch my ears thanks to the brutal acceleration and insane g-forces and that will be just as satisfying as any racing record.
