One time, I had a really vivid dream of winning the lottery. It felt so real. I was about 26 years old when it happened. I was dead asleep and dreaming that after I won 200 million bucks that I had paid off all my friends and family members bills, built a huge compound for us to kick it at, and then just kept going on adventures.
It was so damn cool and I felt amazing. I woke up from my dream and within 3 seconds of cracking open my eyelids I came crashing back down to reality. As soon as I realized I was in my same old bedroom of my roommate’s rented house on Tango Avenue in Anaheim, California, that I had not actually won the lottery. There was no way that Tito, The Captain, and I would still be living in that dump.
Dejected, I rolled out of bed and walked into the living room with its nasty carpet and tore up sofa. This was a flop house, a frat house, a party house. It got the job done and was the center of our social universe but it was also the kind of spot that you would never lay on the floor and look up at the television. The floor was simply disgusting, the victim of one too many ragers. This was not the home of a lottery winner. Tito was sitting on the sofa and could tell I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. He asked why and I mumbled something about not having a winning ticket. Without hesitation, he grabbed one of his motorcycle helmets off a shelf in the room, popped it onto his huge dome, and ran straight into one of the walls of the house. I nearly fell down my sides hurt so bad from all the laughter. It was at that moment that I realized I had already won the roommate lottery and that was enough for me.
When I look at the back of my Lucky Lotto shirt I get the same feeling. I see this shirt and I just laugh and smile. If I won the actual lottery I would immediately acquire an epic setup like this dropped GMC tugging a mean jet boat. What would you buy the moment you cashed that massive check?
